It’s My Rezday! [Update]

Yup… two years, today, I rezzed onto the grid for the first time. I should be online soon to visit all my favorite places and say hi to all my friends. By coincidence, my player had a pretty nice day today. Just a few more RL things to do before he can get in world. I’ll update here if anything interesting happens.
April 1 was the end of my first year with Zell as my official special friend. I saw him last night, and he gave me a card. In a panic, I gave him all of my sound gestures I created this week from the film A.I. I dunno if that counts as a gift. I don’t plan on giving them away to just anyone, you know. We relaxed on a mushroom for a while, in the rain. Shortly after that, it started to lightning and hail. Then there was a rainbow. Zell’s rezday is coming up soon.

[Update 3:43] I woke up to a nice gift from Seth. I think its a blanket. Rise and shine!
[Update 4:42] What’s next? A trip to scout camp. My scouting friends are here, playing drums!
[Update 5:31]Of course I had to go to The Vortex. Everyone wished me a happy 2nd rezday. DJ lil paulo dedicated a song to me, “Destination Unknown” by Alex Gaudino. I can always count on The Vortex.
[Update 6:30]Well its not necessarily my favorite place but that may only be because I’ve never been there before! But my favorite friends were there, of course, partying to Janor tunes. There was Janor, Aunt Liz, Koffeekid, Sokmunky, and Zell. The place is called Nudist Paradise.	Does a little boy really need any more of an excuse to shed himself of his itchy. muddy play clothes? I think not. I did eventually talk Zell into it, too.
[Update 7:44] (( Minor crisis in RL… very noisy neighbor. Can’t hear ourselves think. Must deal with this now. )) I told my friends I would be back in a few. When I returned, I’d frozen. And could not log back in. Ah I see “Various In-World Issues”. On my rez-day!!! sheesh.
[Update 8:15] I finally got in. Koffeekid IM’ed and TP’ed me… He had a surprise party planned, at The Commune. Woo! So far, Gelgisith, Koffeekid Daddy Randy, and Daddy Dom are here. Woooo!

Sorry to those who could not tp in! Trodden gave me a Kids Karaoke box. Woot. KK gave me a teeshirt that i’m afraid to wear or talk about. Bid gave me some candy. wooo… Sok said I’d have to wait till tomorrow for my gift.

Settable Baby Blocks (Freebie)

Some friends have asked me “When will you release more baby blocks?” To be honest, the original ADZ baby block freebie was just a 3D representation of my 2D logo, which simply spells my first name. I never intended to make a complete baby block set.

So, my poor friends have been limited to what they can spell with the letters A, D, and Z. Well, no more! I skipped over the step of creating a baby block set. I have created a universal baby block, and released it full perms. You can change the faces of the block to say whatever letters or numbers you want.

Here’s how it works.

rez the block
touch the block
say a string of up to six letters, numbers, or the asterisk.

The block will apply the specified letters to its own faces. Any faces that are not specified (or are given an asterisk) will be replaced with a randomly-selected image of an animal. Each face has a certain color, and the letters are applied to the faces in a certain order. So, “A” makes a red A, and “*A” makes a blue A (with 5 animals).

Big thanks and hugs to Seth, who talked me into making a large 1024×1024 map of letters rather than 36 individual textures and for writing the LSL mapping function to relate character code to the correct offset on the map.

Everyone Loves A Funpark!

Today I woke up in a tent at Scout Camp (again) and a bunch of boys there tried to figure out what to do today. Someone suggested a funpark, and who could say no to that? I invited my new friend Variable. Of course, I also invited my sweet Zell.

We headed off to a place called Long Beach Carnival And Amusement Park, Long Beach (190, 142, 22).
We went on many rides. We went on a gyro spinning thing, a water slide, and something that spun around violently and made Zell sick. We went on a mission to mars. Here we all are on a choo-choo train. From left to right, Seth Mandelbrot, Adz Childs, Ravin Darks, Zell Dinkin, and Variable Swindlehurst.
	After wearing ourselves out on the spinny kind of rides, we headed to Spook House by Sinatra ~ A Haunt, Noyo (100, 150, 25), where we each took a turn on a spoooooooky ride! Here’s Jesper Toll looking scared, right after coming out of the ride.
And here’s Variable Swindlehurst looking equally scared, if not more. I went on the ride before both of them, but I wasn’t that scared! (( Adz lies. )) Those growing floating skulls are kinda scary. Adz bites his nails.
	Here is Huppy Hoorenbeek on the ride. He looks cool and calm but what you can’t see is that after he got up there was a puddle of wet on his seat. laughs. Just kidding. Korki Halberstadt rode it too but I didn’t manage to get a picture of him today (sorry, Korki).
After getting our fill of flying skulls and dead bats on wires, we headed out to Foreverland Amusement park,Tech , Foreverland (168, 97, 22) where we all rode a huge roller-coaster. It was fun! Here is a picture of me ridding the roller coaster with Jesper.
	Finally, a picture of my second ride on the coaster, when I rode with Variable. Later, we took turns on the mouse trap ride, the electric chair ride, and the burn-at-stake ride, but I ran out of film. Weeee! What a great day guys!

Koffeekid’s Rez-Day Party

So much fun stuff happened last night at Koffeekid‘s Rez-Day party.

First, I was promoted to Duke in Tiny Empires. Here’s a pic of me standing next to my special friend Zell, on the turn I was promoted.
	Then, the party really started. I danced with my Zell Dinkin while Janor Slichter sang and played “The Monkey And The Engineer” for us on his guitar.
So many of my friends were there. More than I can list (or link to). Here are some friends who were dancing near us. Seth Mandelbrot and Trodden Miles danced nearby for a bit.
	Here, Sola Phobos, Gelgisith Kivioq, Sokmunky Rutabaga are rocking out. Gel’s dance consisted of running in a large circle, so this photo was difficult to time.
Here’s the rez-day boy with his clothing still on. Yes, we danced so hard we shook the walls and floor down into the ocean.
	After the hours and hours of partying, Sokmunky took all the kids to her reading room and read us all a story. It was one of the best story-times ever. So many kids snuggled together in this comfy place. We all listened to Sok and grew sleepy together. Playing the drums at scout camp. We were standing around riding bikes and hopping around. I started playing the drums and everyone joined. We sounded pretty good! That’s 8-year-old Seth on the left, then me, then Jess Patton, and Trodden Miles.

Seth’s Basement

Hangin’ out in Seth’s basement is a good way to get away from the grown-ups for a while. Seth is a little older — he’s twelve. I think he’s really cool. Anyway, his basement is cool. There are old toys he doesn’t play with anymore, packed away in boxes. There are cards and dice. You don’t have to pick up after yourself. There are roadsigns lying on the floor! I wonder how he got those? Some of his friends stopped by to visit. They were ((left-to-right)) Atreju Jungsten, Seth Mandelbrot, Adz Childs, Trodden Miles, Gelgisith Kivioq, Karus Doesburg, and Mafiafox Asturias.
